Rich became legally blind at age 10, but his parents never treated blindness as a reason to stop trying. That mindset helped him become one of the youngest Community Action Agency executive directors in the country and later build a 41-year career as a financial advisor.

I also break down the Coast-to-Coast Movement Challenge and how you or your chapter can get involved, plus an exciting opportunity to run the Philadelphia Marathon as part of Team NFB Dreamers.

Then support Keystone Chapter Tuesday at Landmark Americana’s Sip Saver Support, followed by Greater Philadelphia’s annual Bake Sale & Auction on Friday.

Planning for National Convention in Austin this July? Financial assistance requests must be submitted by May 3. And don’t forget Hershey Lodge reservations are now open for our November state convention.

We’ve got five meetings happening this week, including DAN, Blind Merchants, Capital Area, Seniors, and Greater Philadelphia. There are also two upcoming Philadelphia-area fundraisers: Keystone Chapter’s Sip Saver Support on April 28 and Greater Philly’s Bake Sale & Auction on May 1.
Members planning for National Convention in Austin should note the May 3 financial assistance deadline and begin finalizing hotel/travel plans. State Convention room reservations for Hershey are now open as well.
And exciting news: the National Federation of the Blind is partnering with the Philadelphia Marathon this fall.
