UPDATE: 3/24 @ 1500 Parade Canceled : Due to unpredictable weather forecasts for tomorrow, the WB Memorial Day Parade has unfortunately been canceled.

Mayor Reidler and the Police Department would like to thank the Patriotic Order Sons of America for all of their hard work in planning the event, as well as everyone who volunteered to participate.

While we are disappointed we cannot march together, we encourage everyone to take a moment this weekend to honor and remember our fallen heroes. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

It’s National Police Week, and for Throwback Thursday, we’re honoring the service of former South Heidelberg Police Chief Charles "Charlie" Boyer!

Chief Boyer served the South Heidelberg Police Department (SHPD) for two decades, from 1963 to 1983, following his start as a policeman on July 1, 1961.

Although Chief Boyer retired in 1983 and passed away several years ago, we want to take a moment to remember him and the legacy of service he left behind.

We recently received a generous donation from Chief Boyer’s family: his Chief's Badge, neck tie pin, and Constable Badge, which are now treasured by SHPD.

We honor his legacy and service to this community.

Thank you, Chief Boyer!

National Police Week : Honoring Those Who Serve and Remember

This National Police Week, we pause to honor the men and women who put on the uniform every day to keep our communities safe. It is a time for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.

We recognize the courage, dedication, and sacrifices made not only by our officers but also by their families. Most importantly, we stand in solemn tribute to the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their legacy is never forgotten, and their service remains our inspiration.

How You Can Join Us:

Say Thank You: If you see an officer out this week, a simple word of appreciation goes a long way.

Light It Up Blue: Consider glowing a blue light on your porch to show your support.
