We back our Blue! We appreciate you SCPD!
As National Police Week 2026 begins, it’s important to remember that behind every badge is a human being.
There are officers who leave home each day knowing they may walk into situations most people would run from. They miss birthdays, holidays, ballgames, dinners, and sleep. Some carry the weight of what they’ve seen for the rest of their lives. Some never make it home at all.
National Police Week is a time to honor the men and women who serve with integrity and to remember the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting others. It is also a reminder that strong communities are built through respect, accountability, and appreciation working together.
Law enforcement officers are often called during people’s worst moments. They see humanity at its most difficult, yet many continue showing up every day because they genuinely want to help others. While no profession is perfect, there are many good officers serving communities across this country who deserve recognition for the sacrifices they make daily.
As we begin this week of remembrance and recognition we want to acknowledge these officers that work tirelessly around the clock responding to emergencies, protecting our neighborhoods, assisting citizens during difficult moments, and serving our community with compassion and integrity.
Throughout the week, we will be highlighting members of our department who have lost their lives while on duty.
If you know an officer, retired officer, dispatcher, correctional officer, or law enforcement family member, take a moment this week to encourage them. A simple thank you can go a long way.
Please join us in thanking these officers for their continued service, sacrifice, and commitment to keeping our community safe.
Real stories.
Real people.
Real impact.
