Rotary Club of Sioux City is a service club for business professionals and community leaders which meets on Mondays at 12 noon at the MidAmerican Energy Building at 401 Douglas Street. Our General Meetings are held at the Sioux City Convention Center

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

rst - The developement of acquaintance as a opportunity for service
Second - High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of an useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as a opportunity to serve society. Fourth - The advancement of international uderstanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Mike Collett, City Manager for the City of Sioux City, spoke to Rotarians about many housing developments in the City, the Sioux Bee Honey move and the Sioux Gateway Airport planned runway extension. He also provided City updates on flood control, the former jail site, Gordon Drive viaduct, police chief recruitment, events at the Tyson Events Center, the Homelessness Assistance Response Team, and property taxes.

Russ Wooley, Managing/Artistic Director at LAMB Theatre, and Heath Weber, Dean of School of Visual and Performing Arts at Morningside University, spoke to Rotarians about their partnership. LAMB left their Market Street location and moved theatre productions and LAMB School classes to the Klinger-Neal Theatre at Morningside University in 2024. New lighting, sound and backstage equipment as well as new seats will enhance the theater experience for college students, youth and adults.

It was a hot sun and a lot of warm hearts today when local author Katie Kruse, her family and friends came by to celebrate her book “Hummingbird Lesson,” now featured in the StoryWalk created by the Rotary Club at Spalding Park. Rotary volunteers came early to post the new book which will be up for 6 weeks. Thank you, Katie for contributing a special book to our StoryWalk.
