Our Buddies at Dakota Trout Unlimited invited our Project Healing Waters- Sioux Falls members to enjoy a fun night of food, friends, and fishing.

FH is newish to Sioux Falls, and moved here five years ago from Milwaukee.
While volunteering at the Zoo, he met Dr. Jim (another Vietnam Veteran) who introduced him to Project Healing Waters!

"It's great to link up fellow Vets. There is a bond amongst Vets that the general public doesn’t understand. It’s the quiet of knowing we (Veterans) have a shared experience, even at different times, only a few will ever know. Project Healing Waters helps provide that opportunity to all who join."

People assume our mission is teaching Veterans how to fly fish.

It's not.

Fly fishing just happens to be one of the greatest excuses ever created to slow down, spend time outside, and build friendships that don't require explanations.

The fish are a bonus. The real catch is belonging.

If you've ever wondered how you can support America's Veterans after their service ends, this is one way. Every donation helps create another opportunity for connection, purpose, and healing.

I had never fly fished before, but had seen people do it when I was in Alaska.
When looking up Veteran groups, I found the Project Healing Waters website- and since joining I have made new friends, learned new skills, I get out in nature more, and it reignited my love of fishing."
