A new school year means new possibilities. The Providing Access to Healing (PATH) program seeks to increase access to counseling services for youth by providing services in a school setting.

Therapists can help youth K-12:
• Feeling sad, lonely or having a lot of worries
• Having trouble getting along with others
• Having behavioral issues at home, school or in the community
• Adjusting to life changes such as moving, parental divorce, parent deployment or death of a loved one
• Engaging in risky behaviors

It’s a scene that would have been difficult to imagine a decade ago, when the now 28-year-old was experiencing homelessness and placed into foster care. Jessie is the Licensing and Intake Social Worker for Treatment Foster Care. “My role is to guide families interested in becoming a treatment foster parent through the licensing process. Our foster parents provide children a safe place to flourish and heal while their family of origin works toward a similar goal. Parenting children from hard places comes with challenges that no one should have to face alone. Our treatment foster care team is passionate about walking alongside and supporting our foster parents through it all.”
