The AMA nailed it! Just a few reasons why...
* Chat bots can provide incorrect, outdated, or misleading medical information.
* Chat bots cannot be trained with all of the information your health care provider has access to. That information is behind a paywall/subscription. That is also why the library is so important!
* They do not have access to your full medical history, medications, allergies, or test results.
* Symptoms that seem minor online could actually signal a serious medical condition.
* Chat bots cannot perform physical exams, diagnostic testing, or emergency assessments.
* Medical advice from AI may lack important context, nuance, or clinical judgment.
* Health recommendations can vary greatly depending on age, pregnancy status, chronic illness, or other individual factors.
* Delaying professional medical care because of online advice can worsen outcomes.
* When it comes to your health, verified medical professionals are the safest and most reliable source of care.
