Ronald McDonald House Charities of SD

Ronald McDonald House Charities of SD Providing home-like comfort, care, and support for families with children receiving medical care.

Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured child. Often, it can be a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. And for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having their mom and dad close by. Our Ronald McDonald House program provides a home away from home for families so they can stay close by their hospit

alized child at little or no cost. Our Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest.

We are so grateful to Black Hills Woman Magazine and writer Miranda O'Bryan Hertel for this beautiful feature on the House in the Hills. From Kristi Sabo's story to Sheila's heartfelt words about why this work matters so deeply, this article captures exactly why western South Dakota has needed a Ronald McDonald House for so long. As the article says, "It won't just be a house; it will be a lifeline." We couldn't agree more. Check out the full article at the link below!

This one's been sitting in our camera roll and it deserves to be seen. ⛳❤️ We had an absolute blast at the Kilts for Kids golf tournament and are so grateful for everyone who came out to play and support the families staying with us. A huge thank you to our generous sponsors, none of this would be possible without you!

Every child who stays at the House in the Hills will walk into a very special room, and walk out with a toy to call their own thanks to the generous support of the Independent Insurance Agents of Rapid City. We are so honored to recognize their commitment to the families in western South Dakota. Thank you for making sure every child who comes through our doors leaves with something to hold onto. 🧡

There are still naming opportunities at the House in the Hills. Reach out to Sheila Klosterman at [email protected] to learn more.

A homemade meal, a full kitchen, and a team that showed up ready to cook. The crew from POET stopped by to make a Meals from the Heart dinner for our families. Doesn't it look absolutely delicious! Thank you, POET, for giving your time and pouring so much care into everything you made. Our families loved it!

Monument Health Clinical Research presented a $500 check to House in the Hills, the future Ronald McDonald House Charities of SD coming to Rapid City.

Once complete, the House will give more than 600 families a year a place to stay while a child receives care, saving them the cost of hotels and meals during an already difficult time. It will sit at the corner of East Fairmont Blvd and Elm Avenue, just blocks from Monument Health's Rapid City campus.

Supporting this project reflects one of Monument Health's core priorities: impacting the communities we serve. Since the late 1800s, we have been part of the Black Hills, and that commitment continues with projects built to meet the region's needs for generations to come.
