Burnett County Salvation Army

Burnett County Salvation Army Homeless shelter helping families and individuals in Burnett County. We also help with utility and rent assistance.

The Backpack program in Grantsburg and Siren are also administered by us in Burnett County. Our goal is to promote self-sufficiency by providing a safe and secure environment giving individuals the opportunity to overcome unresolved issues. Through education, individuals are encouraged to be responsible for themselves and others. We provide the skills to make appropriate choices for a healthy valu

e
system creating strong families and safe communities. Upon departing from our programs we want to ensure all clients are permanently housed and have a relapse prevention plan in place. By offering educational opportunities and access to all community assistance programs, we provide the tools for continued success.

Great weather for a stroll!

The Christmas Lights Walk will be on tonight November 19, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Resort. Call or text 262-202-9201 to reserve a time. The next currently scheduled night will be November 30, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
We have our Christmas Lights Walk between mid-November through early January. It is a little less than a half mile walk, with animated displays, a nativity, lights synchronized to music, a walk in the woods, a light tunnel, laser lights and more. We have about 10,000 Christmas lights and over 100 floodlights/spotlights throughout. Dates and times, as well as any schedule changes, are posted here on our Bashaw Lake Resort page.
We are located at 3215 Lakeview Church Rd., Shell Lake, WI 54871, and request that people, who plan to attend one of the nights, text message us at 262-202-9201 to let us know the night and time they plan to arrive, so that we can monitor the number of people who will be here. Please park on the north side of Lakeview Church Rd. (opposite Resort side of the road) and start the tour at the top of the driveway. As time allows, we try to provide guided tours.
There is no charge for the event, but we do ask people for a donation to Salvation Army.
At a leisurely pace it will take approximately 15 minutes to walk through the tour. Except for a small indoor portion near the end, this is an outdoor recreational activity including a walk after dark down a gravel drive and along a wooded trail. There are rough and uneven areas, especially in the woods. Weather conditions and accumulated snow will cause areas that are slick and slippery. Visitors are free to bring their own small flashlight along with them and should dress appropriately. There are also flashing lights at various points along the way and laser lights in use. Do not look back into the source of the laser lights.
There is a light tunnel with 1,600 LED lights in motion, a musical light show with hundreds of incandescent and LED lights, as well as LED flood lights, synchronized to music, animated displays, a Nativity display, laser lights and more. Towards the end, there are additional small indoor displays in our farm museum/multipurpose room. Except for that small indoor portion near the end, this is an outdoor walk after dark down a gravel drive and along a wooded trail.
