Our thoughts and prayers are with the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sisseton Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Frank’s family, friends, and fellow law enforcement officers following this heartbreaking loss.

Law enforcement is more than a profession, it is a family. When one of our own is lost, the pain is felt throughout our entire law enforcement community. During this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters at MCSO.

Please keep Deputy Frank’s loved ones, fellow deputies, and the entire Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office in your thoughts and prayers.

Rest easy, Deputy Frank. Your service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.

Make a plan before the celebration starts. 🍻➡️🚕 That sober ride home will cost you a lot less than a DUI. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

The best way to avoid a DUI is simple. If you’re high, don't drive. Find another way home. Drive High, Get a DUI.

The Sisseton Police Department recently hosted and instructed an ALERRT Level 1 Active Shooter Response training at Sisseton Middle School. This important training brought together multiple agencies to strengthen our coordinated response and enhance public safety in our community.

Participating agencies included the Sisseton Police Department, Roberts County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Police, and Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the FBI for their assistance in instructing this training and helping ensure our officers are equipped with the most current tactics and best practices. We would also like to thank the Sisseton Wahpeton Office of Emergency Management for their assistance with role players for the training.

Training like this is critical to ensuring that, if the unthinkable happens, our agencies can respond quickly, effectively, and together.

We appreciate the continued support of our community as we work to keep Sisseton safe.

Tonight, the Sisseton Police Department hosted a Law Enforcement Child Appreciation Event.

While our officers proudly wear the badge, their children quietly make sacrifices of their own. They miss birthdays, holidays, family dinners, and often carry the worry that comes with having a parent in law enforcement. Their strength, patience, and support help make it possible for our officers to serve this community each day.

This evening, we recognized those incredible children by presenting them with certificates of appreciation as a small token of our gratitude. Although a certificate can never fully capture everything they give up, we hope each of you know how valued and appreciated you truly are.

Thank you to all of our law enforcement families for the sacrifices you make every day. To our officers' children: your courage, resilience, and unwavering support do not go unnoticed. We are proud of you, and tonight was all about celebrating you. 💙
