Local businesses affected by the Akawa Butte Fire: The State of Oregon is asking businesses to report any financial or operational impacts they experienced from the fire or smoke.

Sharing this information will help officials understand the full economic impact and support efforts to secure disaster assistance for affected businesses and communities.

Oregon businesses experiencing physical damage or economic losses from wildfires or wildfire smoke are encouraged to report their impacts through the Oregon Business Self-Reporting Damage Survey.

CONSTRUCTION ALERT: Continued work on the Adams Avenue Streetscape Project and the Elm Street Multi-Use Path Project.

Adams Avenue Streetscape Project:
Deschutes Construction will continue curb work and base rock grading on the east end of Adams from Fir to Cedar and on the side streets. Landscaping will continue on Adams and the side streets from Pine to Fir Street. Paving for the east end of Adams and side streets is scheduled to begin September 14. Parking will be limited at times through the corridor, and intermittent street closures, lane shifts, and restrictions will be in place.

RESIDENT NOTICE:
The DCC team will be backfilling sidewalks along Adams Avenue September 2–3. To allow this work to be completed efficiently, all vehicles should be moved off Adams Avenue. Please park on the side streets. By the evening of September 2, vehicles should be moved back onto Adams Avenue so crews can complete backfilling work on the side streets.

Elm Street Multi-Use Path Project:
DJ Miller Construction is scheduled to pave from Jefferson Avenue through the Black Crater intersection on Tuesday, September 1. The concrete bridge abutments have been excavated, and concrete forming and pouring will occur after a geotechnical inspection of the subgrade. Expect intermittent street closures, lane shifts, and restrictions. Vehicles parked in the public right-of-way will need to be moved to allow for a safe construction zone.

Please use caution if traveling through these areas. Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians should expect brief delays during working hours. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained as much as possible throughout construction.

Elm Street Multi-Use Path Project:
DJ Miller Construction will continue placing base rock and compacting the 8-foot-wide path from Black Crater to Tyee Drive. The Black Crater intersection with Elm Street will have intermittent closures next week to construct the ADA-compliant crossing, with detour signage in place. Concrete bridge abutment work will also begin next week. Expect intermittent street closures, lane shifts, and traffic restrictions. Vehicles parked in the public right-of-way will need to be moved to allow for a safe construction zone.

Adam's Avenue Streetscape Project:
Deschutes Construction will begin curb work on the east end of Adams from Fir to Cedar. Landscaping will continue on Adams and the side streets from Pine to Fir Street, while demolition and subgrade work continues on the east end of Adams from Larch to Cedar. Parking will be limited at times through the corridor.

Residents should be aware of upcoming construction work, including curb work August 26–31, sidewalk work August 30–September 7, and paving planned for the week of September 14. Please do not walk or drive on freshly poured curbs, sidewalks, or driveways.

Residents are also asked not to park against or immediately next to new curbs while they are being poured. A member of the DCC team will notify residents when it is safe to walk on new sidewalks and when vehicles may drive on driveways.

CONSTRUCTION ALERT: Four projects are underway this week, including work on Edgington Road Waterline, the Elm Street Multi-Use Path, the Adams Avenue Streetscape, and pavement maintenance.

Edgington Road Waterline Project:
Robinson & Owen Heavy Construction will continue work on the new waterline across Hwy 242 at Edgington Road. Hwy 242 will be closed from Trinity Way to McKinney Butte through the afternoon of August 21, with a detour in place. Access to the Sisters Middle School entrances off Hwy 242 will be maintained, and Edgington Road property owners will continue to have access.

Elm Street Multi-Use Path Project:

Striping will follow a few days after the fog seal is applied. Expect intermittent street closures, lane shifts, and restrictions. Vehicles parked in the public right-of-way will need to be moved to allow for a safe construction zone.
