Freshly harvested radishes + hummus + crackers eaten outside in the sunshine might be one of the best ways to learn about farming
This spring, students have been exploring the farm with all their senses — pulling radishes from the soil, tasting fresh greens, harvesting vegetables, observing pollinators, learning about weather, and discovering where food really comes from.
At , field trips are more than one-time visits. They’re part of a hands-on learning experience that helps students build curiosity, confidence, problem-solving skills, and a deeper connection to the land.
In 2024, we welcomed 783 kids and youth through our Farm Field Trip series, serving students from both Sisters and across Central Oregon. Altogether, Seed to Table reached 1,093 K–12 students through field trips, classroom lessons, camps, and other farm-based programs.
And yes — there are always veggies involved. In 2024 alone, we shared more than 7,500 pounds of produce with field trip kids and their families.
Watching students light up when they harvest something themselves never gets old.
