Today we remember Charlie Cartwright.

Charlie served Osage County as both District 3 Commissioner and Chief Deputy for the Osage County Sheriff’s Office. He was known for his toughness, determination, sense of humor, and commitment to doing the right thing.

Charlie cared deeply about his community, his work, and most importantly, his family and the love of his life, Teri Cartwright.

His years of service and dedication to Osage County will not be forgotten, and he will be greatly missed by many across our county.

Please keep Teri, his family, and all those who knew and loved Charlie in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

We want to take a moment to say thank you to the Osage County Sheriff's Office and to Tony Reeves for organizing inmate community service crews to help here in District 2 and the City of Skiatook.

We also appreciate our continued partnership with the City of Skiatook. Working together makes a real difference, and it shows in the progress being made.

This week, crews have been helping with cleanup and light tree trimming, work that directly benefits our community.

Programs like this matter. They give individuals who have made mistakes an opportunity to give back in a positive way, while also helping keep Osage County clean and our public spaces manageable. It’s a practical approach that benefits everyone.

It’s also worth remembering that operating a jail comes with real costs, such as food, housing, medical care, and more. When individuals are able to contribute through community service, it helps offset some of that burden while encouraging responsibility and accountability.

We’re thankful for the teamwork that makes efforts like this possible, and we’re proud to be part of a community that continues to show up, work hard, and support one another.
