Skiatook E911 Dispatch E911 Dispatch for the City of Skiatook

05/08/2026

The electric crews are aware of the power outages in the Pine and Oak area and will begin working to restore service as soon as it is safe to do so.

Please do not tie up emergency dispatch lines with repeated calls regarding the outage so dispatchers can remain available for emergency calls and public safety needs.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as crews work through the severe weather conditions to safely restore power.

⚠️ WEATHER UPDATE ⚠️

Our Fire Department is actively out monitoring all incoming storms and working closely with Dispatch. They are the ones instructing Dispatch when to activate and deactivate the storm sirens based on current conditions and radar information.

If the sirens are repeatedly sounding, it is because precautions are being taken to keep our citizens safe. Current storm warnings include destructive winds and hail, and the storm is also being reported as capable of producing a tornado.

At this time, we need everyone to PLEASE stop calling Dispatch to complain about the sirens and instead focus on taking shelter and staying weather aware. Dispatchers must keep emergency lines open for citizens needing immediate assistance.

Your safety is our priority. Please stay alert, monitor trusted weather sources, and take all warnings seriously

As National Telecommunicator Appreciation Week 2026 comes to a close, we’re ending on the sweetest note yet…..

This year, we launched our very first “Adopt a Dispatcher” program… and WOW—our community showed up in a way that truly left us speechless. We had enough interest to adopt out our dispatchers seven times over! That kind of support says everything about the heart of this community.

From thoughtful gifts to handwritten notes and surprise treats, our dispatchers felt the love all week long—and this collage is just a glimpse of the kindness you shared.

To everyone who adopted, donated, dropped off goodies, or simply took a moment to say “thank you”… you made a lasting impact. Behind every headset is a person who carries the weight of every call—and this week, you helped lift that weight with appreciation and encouragement.

From all of us at Skiatook E911 Communications… thank you for making our team feel seen, supported, and truly valued. 💙

WOW… what a week! The Skiatook E911 Communications Team is beyond grateful for the outpouring of love, support, goodies, and kindness from our amazing community during National Telecommunicators Week!

From the bottom of our headsets to the tips of our keyboards — THANK YOU for making us feel so appreciated and seen.

A huge shoutout to everyone who participated in our Adopt-a-Dispatcher program… you truly went above and beyond to spoil our team, and it did not go unnoticed (or uneaten 😄🍪). Your support means more to us than words can say!

And a very special THANK YOU to Joshua Yount — your continued support year after year helps make this week extra special for our dispatchers. We appreciate you more than you know!

We are proud to serve such a thoughtful, generous, and supportive community. Every call we answer, we’re reminded just how lucky we are to serve Skiatook.

And lastly…..Every great (and slightly chaotic) team needs a fearless leader… and ours is E911 Communications Director, Tiarr Wakefield — the official ringmaster of this rag tag bunch!

Happy Dispatch Week to the one who keeps this crew rolling — we promise we only mostly behave!

Dispatch called in some extra backup today… and let’s just say, things just got ruff 😎

K9 Knox is officially on shift, assisting with high priority calls such as:
-Treat-related emergencies
-Suspicious squirrel activity
-Unauthorized snack consumption

He’s already proven himself as a paws-itively essential member of the team—boosting morale, demanding belly rubs, and maintaining strict supervision over all snacks in the communications center.

We feel much safer knowing Knox is on the job… even if his main qualification is being 100% adorable

Day 3 of National Telecommunicator Appreciation Week – Good Fortune FOP Day! 🥠✨

Today our dispatchers were truly shown how much they are valued! They received a heartfelt appreciation card signed by all of our officers—such a meaningful gesture that meant more than words can say. ❤️

Officers gifted Amazon and Idle Time Creations LLC gift cards to help with uniforms—thank you for supporting both their needs and comfort on the job!

And to top it all off… a fun and creative sushi tray filled with socks and fortune cookies!

We are so grateful for the continued support and recognition of our dispatchers.
