UTILITY NOTICE – BIGHEART AREA

Residents in the Bigheart area behind Mr. Bass should be aware that electric service will be shut off for approximately 6 hours or possibly longer today while Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG) works on an active gas leak in the area.

💧 Water pressure will also be affected during this same time period and may be very low or completely off.

⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT CALL DISPATCH REGARDING THE POWER OR WATER OUTAGE. Dispatch does not have additional information or an estimated restoration time. Please help us keep the phone lines available for emergency calls and public safety needs.

Please plan accordingly and use caution around crews working in the area. We appreciate everyone’s patience while ONG works to safely resolve the gas leak.

📚✏️ FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL — DISPATCH EDITION 📞🚓🚒🚑

All the parents were posting their adorable first-day-of-school pictures this morning, so obviously I couldn’t let our dispatchers miss out. 🤣

They grabbed their headsets, put on their best smiles, and reluctantly participated in the traditional “hold the sign so your boss can take your picture” ceremony.

A few important differences, though…

No backpacks — just radios and headsets.
No new teachers — just the same boss.
No school bus — but they did get to listen to one all day.
No homework — just CAD calls, radio traffic, 911 calls, and approximately 47 people asking questions at the exact same time.
And unfortunately…no 3:00 dismissal bell.

While Skiatook students headed back to the classroom today, our Skiatook 911 dispatchers were behind the consoles helping keep that first day safe for everyone.

And because I’m their Director and apparently enjoy embarrassing them, YES, I made them take first-day pictures.

🚨 SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED 🚨

On August 7, 2026, at approximately 4 p.m. the Skiatook Police Department executed a search warrant in the 200 block of East Pine Place in connection with an ongoing investigation into illicit drug activity.

The search warrant was obtained as part of an investigation into the sale, distribution, and trafficking of illegal narcotics.

During the ex*****on of the search warrant, illicit substances, which included substances that field tested presumptively positive for fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia were recovered and secured as evidence.

K9 Knox played a significant role in assisting officers during the operation and investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available and can be appropriately disclosed.

The Skiatook Police Department remains committed to investigating illegal drug activity and working to keep our community safe.

The CERT Volunteer team will open the storm shelter/gymnasium at Skiatook Elementary at 9:00 PM as a precautionary measure due to the storm in Osage County. Please be advised that, for safety reasons, pets are not permitted in the shelter.

The electric crews are aware of the power outages in the Pine and Oak area and will begin working to restore service as soon as it is safe to do so.

Please do not tie up emergency dispatch lines with repeated calls regarding the outage so dispatchers can remain available for emergency calls and public safety needs.
