🚧🏗️ CONSTRUCTION UPDATE — NEW PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY 🏗️🚧

Skiatook residents, we’re making some concrete progress! 🏢👮‍♂️🚒

Concrete will be poured at the new Skiatook Public Safety Facility tomorrow morning and again Friday morning, with work beginning around MIDNIGHT on both nights.

🌡️ Why so late? Oklahoma heat! 🥵

Due to the extreme temperatures, the concrete work needs to be completed during the cooler overnight hours to ensure the best possible results for the new facility.

We apologize in advance for the noise and disruption during the overnight hours. We know nobody wants to hear construction equipment running at midnight, but this schedule is necessary because of the heat and will help keep the project moving forward.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we continue to build a new home for Skiatook Police, Fire, 911 Dispatch, and Emergency Management.

👮‍♂️🚒🚨 The noise may be happening at midnight, but the progress is happening 24/7!

🚨 TRAINING TODAY MEANS SAFER TOMORROW 🚨

This week, the Skiatook Police Department had the privilege of hosting a 3-Day CLEET-approved Less Lethal Instructor Certification Course presented by the CTS Training Institute.

From August 25–27, 2026, law enforcement professionals came together for intensive classroom instruction and hands-on training covering impact munitions, chemical agents, and flashbang/distraction devices.

What made this training especially valuable was the opportunity to bring together officers and instructors from multiple agencies and three states, creating an environment where experience, knowledge, and best practices could be shared across jurisdictions.

• McDonald County Sheriff’s Office – Missouri
• Independence Police Department – Kansas
• Skiatook Police Department
• Edmond Police Department
• Del City Police Department
• Noble County Detention Center
• Collinsville Police Department
• Pryor Police Department

• Osage County Sheriff's Office
• Ponca City Police Department
• Jenks Police Department
• Durant Police Department
• CMC Government Supply – Texas

The CTS Training Institute, the training division of Combined Systems, Inc., provided instruction designed to prepare officers for critical incidents through a combination of proven less-lethal systems, sound tactics, policy considerations, and real-world application.

Training like this isn’t just about equipment; it’s about preparation, judgment, teamwork, and giving officers additional options when faced with difficult and rapidly evolving situations.

We are proud to have opened our doors to fellow law enforcement professionals and grateful to everyone who traveled to Skiatook to participate.
