Yesterday we fought an almost 11 acre fire in between Skidmore and Papalote. We would like to thank Skidmore Volunteer FireDepartment, Beeville Fire Department ,Tynan Volunteer Fire Department, Bee OEM, Texas A&M Forest Service and TIFMAS Strike Team for your quick efforts in working with us on getting the brush fire out.

HWY 181 is shut down and being rerouted through town. Please slow down on the S curve before entering skidmore.

BBQ Benefit for Patricia Edwards & Family

Come out to No Name Cantina and enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch while supporting a wonderful family in our community!

We'll be serving BBQ chicken quarters with rice and beans.

Patricia dedicated her time serving our community as a dispatcher for Beeville, and her husband served with the fire department. Through some of life's most difficult moments, Patricia has been there for so many of our families.

Now it's our turn to be there for her through her husband's passing.

We hope you'll join us, enjoy a great meal, and help support Patricia and her family during this time. Every meal purchased makes a difference.

Thank you again, Anheuser-Busch and National Volunteer Fire Council! During training some of our volunteer firefighters were able to enjoy some refreshing cold water! We have been able to send some of this water out on calls for our station as well. Our department is very grateful for the opportunity in receiving this generous gift.

Papalote Volunteer Fire Department responded to another vehicle accident last night near Papalote Creek along with Tynan Volunteer Fire Department and Skidmore Volunteer FireDepartment. Year around along 181 we have many deer on the sides of the road especially near the creek where water access is available to them. Watch your speeds and keep a look out they sometimes are in roadways or run towards vehicles when lights are on at night.

Each year, Anheuser-Busch pauses b**r production to produce emergency drinking water, and in partnership with National Volunteer Fire Council, ensures volunteer firefighters have the critical hydration they need during extreme heat. We’re proud to be one of the departments receiving this donation to help keep our team hydrated during wildfires and extended responses. A big thank you to L&F Distributors of Corpus Christi for delivering the water to our station! We recieved 2,352 cans.

We take this time to honor the brave Firefighters that made the ultimate sacrifice while in the line of duty. We send our prayers and hearts out to their families and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
