Priority IV: There is currently no path to promotion at . Many part-time staff, for example, have worked years at the library and bring experience, expertise, even library science degrees to their roles yet aren’t recognized or compensated for the additional skills they bring to their positions. Many staff have worked for years at the library and feel stuck in their positions, with no hope for advancement unless they leave . When someone is promoted, there is little transparency or understanding why the decision was made. We deserve a clearly defined process that acknowledges our skills, expertise and service to the . Priority II: We want to protect the most vulnerable amongst us, especially those staff currently making less than $15 an hour. We want to ensure that future budgets will pay all workers, at a minimum, a living wage with consistent cost-of-living adjustments. workers have not received a cost of living increase over the last 2 years during a time of record inflation. Tomorrow morning we will be meeting with Administration to discuss this.
