It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Kelley Holdren. Kelley dedicated an incredible 20 years of her life to the UCAN - University of Chicago Aeromedical Network, serving as the Chief Flight Nurse & Administrative Director for the past 11 years.
Kelley was not just a respected leader in the aeromedical transport industry; she was an extraordinary individual who gave selflessly to those in need.
As we mourn the loss of Kelley, let us remember and celebrate the significant contributions she made to the field of aeromedical transport and emergency medicine. May her memory motivate us to pursue excellence in our profession and compassion for those we encounter.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences extend to Kelley’s family and friends, and to her colleagues at the University of Chicago.
We will miss you, Kelley.

The American Ambulance Association Stars of Life program shines a light on EMS professionals who go the extra mile for their communities and the EMS field.
Meet one of this year's stars, MedEx Operations Supervisor Danny Neczek! With over 2 decades of EMS experience, he's not just a leader, but also an incredible survivor.
On March 3rd, 2023, while on duty at our Chicago Station, Danny went into cardiac arrest. Thankfully, his MedEx family, including EMTs and paramedics, were there to save the day. Their quick response and dedication resuscitated Danny, and he was rushed to the University of Illinois Hospital.
Miraculously, he was discharged 10 days later!
We want to recognize those who played a crucial role in Danny's recovery, and we're thrilled to have him back on the job, stronger than ever! 💪❤️

Congratulations to EMT Amna S. on her incredible journey with MedEx! Over the past few years, we’ve seen her grow from a shy but capable EMT to an outstanding clinical professional.
As she embarks on the next chapter of her career, being accepted into a Physician Assistant program in St. Louis, we want to extend our warmest wishes and support. It's always bittersweet to say farewell to a valued team member, but we know that Amna's future is bright and filled with promise. We are grateful for the contributions she has made to MedEx and the lives she has touched during her time here.
Amna, you have a bright future ahead, and we are confident that you will continue to excel and make a positive impact in the medical field. You’re going to do great things!

The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is the world’s largest corporate running event that takes place in 15 locations across eight countries and six continents. One of those locations was right here in Chicago last Thursday night. MedEx EMTs & Paramedics were on standby at the event along with a specially trained team of nurses and physicians. Out of an estimated 10,000 runners, MedEx only had ONE transport to an area hospital. Thanks to our crews that assisted with the success of this event. We’re glad to be part of J.P Morgan’s mission of teamwork and camaraderie.

This week MedEx had an on-site Safety Consultant work with many of our employees. The MedEx Risk Management Department works closely with Vista Safety Consulting, LLC to further our ongoing commitment to company-wide safety. The consultant spent time doing ride-alongs with our crews and witnessed firsthand some of the day-to-day challenges in EMS.
Thanks to Vista for your partnership and thanks to our EMTs for showing them some amazing teamwork!

Lauren Rubinson, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MedEx Ambulance Service, was among an elite group of women to receive the inaugural Vanguard Award, presented by the American Ambulance Association (AAA)
According to the President of the AAA, this prestigious award honors “these trailblazers who have paved the way for women in EMS,””
Lauren will be accepting the award in late June at the American Ambulance Association President’s Reception in Las Vegas.
We are so excited for Lauren to receive this honor, as she has truly led the way for women and helped to advance the entire profession.
It all began with the first 17 EMTs and paramedics that helped Lauren launch MedEx in 1998. Several of the “Magnificent 17” are still working with MedEx today!
We would like to thank everyone who supported MedEx, Lauren, and her mission over the last 25 years.
Please join us in congratulating Lauren for receiving this wonderful distinction!

We are very saddened to hear of the on-duty death of a Superior Ambulance EMT. The Superior crew stopped to check on a one-car crash near Detroit when the EMT was struck by another vehicle.
Our condolences to the EMT's family and to his family at Superior Ambulance.

On behalf of the Superior Ambulance and the EMS community, we are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own. Matthew Madigan, an EMT out of Superior Ambulance of Michigan, was a valuable member of our team who embodied our core values of compassion, dedication, and excellence. We will forever be grateful for his commitment to serving others and his sacrifice will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and condolences are with Matthew's loved ones and colleagues during this difficult time.
