Skokie Public Library is 92 years old today. 🎂

Our library opened on February 8, 1930, operating at only 10 hours per week, and we had 1,000 donated books to circulate.

We’ve seen a lot of changes over the years, but we’ve always led with serving our community.

A productive week #InTheDistrict for #TeamRam! ✅ I met with John M. Palmer Elementary School's Local School Council to discuss how new laws aim to make our schools more inclusive, including the #TEAACHAct, Keeping Youth Safe & Healthy Act, excused student absences for religious reasons and more. ✅ The Skokie Public Library held a community meeting on how to better serve our AAPI friends and neighbors. ✅ I joined ED-RED for a town hall to discuss legislation that will review curriculum and other requirements on our schools. ✅ The American Council of Engineering Companies hosted me at their legislative conference to talk about the #RebuildIllinois program, federal funding for infrastructure improvements and this legislative session.
