Do you like candy? Do you like people? Would you like to give free candy to people?
Orchard Village needs volunteers for Tootsie Roll Tag Days on September 18, 19 & 20 from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM!

Volunteers will be stationed outside of Jewel-Osco, collecting donations to support Orchard Village. In appreciation for their generosity, donors will receive a Tootsie Roll!

Thanks to the generosity of the Orchard Village community, more than $127,000 was raised for Orchard Village's jobs program! These funds pair participants with a job coach — supporting them through resume writing, interview practice, and on-the-job coaching in pursuit of steady, meaningful work.

Special thanks to Shawn, who found a job at a local pizza restaurant through the employment program, and Denise, a Special Olympics athlete and day program participant, who both volunteered at the Classic.

To all the golfers, volunteers, committee members, and sponsors: thank you for showing up and believing in the people Orchard Village serves. Orchard Village's employment program has connected adults with disabilities to local employers since 1977 — and none of it happens without this incredible support.

At the Summer Bash this July, Orchard Village participants had a blast playing games, digging into tacos and catching up with friends. Social events like this aren't just fun on the calendar, they play a vital role in what makes the OV community thrive. Moments like this are a reminder of why coming together matters. On July 25, Orchard Village celebrated Disability Pride!

Participants, staff, family, and friends proudly participated in the Disability Pride Parade, showing up to celebrate inclusion, community, and the many incredible people who make Orchard Village so special. Thank you to everyone who walked, rode, cheered, and helped make the day such a meaningful celebration!
Disability Pride celebrates the disability community, honors the progress made, and continues to build a more inclusive world for everyone.

Governor Pritzker has proclaimed today, July 26, 2026, as “Americans with Disabilities Act Day,” Illinois' observance of the Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Orchard Village is proud to support the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 36th Anniversary. On July 26th we celebrate this important civil rights law that works to ensure all people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

Indulge in the flavors of the season and visit Orchard Village at the Skokie Farmers’ market this Sunday, July 12th! Orchard Village produce is grown by OV participants in collaboration with the Talking Farm using organic methods.

Purchasing from Orchard Village helps sustain the gardening program, which provides recreational therapy, job training, and community connection to program participants.
