Effective 8/7 King County FPD #50 will issue a level 2 burn ban. This is no outdoor burning. Best place to find our fire district burn ban status is our website at skykomishfire50.com.

DO NOT burn:

ANY outdoor fires, including recreational and ceremonial fires

OK to use:

Manufactured portable outdoor devices* like…

Gas and charcoal grills
Natural gas or propane appliances like patio warmers
Wood pellet smokers
*Follow manufacturer’s recommendations
No combustible vegetation within 10 feet

Used coals must be disposed of properly:

Douse with water.
When cool enough to handle, put the coals into a metal container.
Seal the container with a tight-fitting lid.
After the coals have thoroughly cooled, they may be put into a regular trash bin.

A big thank you to DripDrop and National Volunteer Fire Council for including us in the 2026 DripDrop Hydration Giveback Campaign! Today at approximately 3:55 there will be a memorial procession for Larry "MAC" McLaughlin starting at the Skykomish Air Field and ending at the Skykomish Community Church.
Additionally, the Station Siren will sound between 3:55 and 4:00. there is no emergency or reason to be alarmed.
Everybody is welcome to attend the Celebration of life.

Just in case someone missed Geoff's message in Friends of Skykomish. Message below. Tunnel Days Celebration is this Saturday. If you are a baker or have a place to pick something up that you really enjoy, please consider donating it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,
I'll be coordinating the Pie Social this year for tunnel days. We are still in need of 1-2 additional volunteers and as many homemade or store bought baked goods as you are able to provide. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Fire Department.
Donated baked goods can be dropped off at Sky Artworks on Friday June 19th between 12pm-5pm. If you would like to volunteer please let me know on here or drop into the art gallery.
