Engine 9, Special Service 9 and Tanker 9 responded to a working dwelling fire yesterday on Rextown Road in the Emerald section of Washington Township. While crews were clearing the house fire, all 3 units responded to 7th Street in the Borough of Slatington for an outside fire.

This morning Engine 9 and Special Service 9 responded to Walnutport to assist with a Dwelling fire.

Tonight our members trained with Star Hose Fire Company No. 1 and Slatedale Fire Department. Members from all 3 departments worked with thermal imaging cameras in a dark, smoke filled room (using a fog machine) to navigate, identify room layouts, work with tools, and find victims.

Yesterday at 4:39pm Special Service 9 and Utility 9 responded to route 873 for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian struck.

This morning at 8:27am Special Service 9 responded to the PA turnpike 71.1 southbound in the tunnel for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Today, a few members participated in the PA State Fire Academy Flashover Simulator. More members are taking part tomorrow.

The Flashover Simulator provides the ability to show firefighters the development of a fire through flashover and to teach firefighters the warning signs of flashover, and ways they can survive.
