🔥 Critical fire weather conditions on Monday

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning from 9 AM to 6 PM on Monday. Low humidity and a strong north wind will cause fires to spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

East Feliciana Parish is under a Burn Ban until further notice.. Outdoor cooking is allowed., but has to be contained such as BBQ pit.

The Slaughter Fire Department would like to thank the great citizens of Slaughter for your cooperation during the Burn Ban.

🔥‼️3 Safety tips for burning ‼️🔥
1) Burn in a fire pit or burn barrel, something that contains the flame!
2) Have a water hose that is easily accessible!
3) Do NOT drink and burn!

This morning the Slaughter Fire Department was invited by West Feliciana Fire District 1 to conduct live fire drills. Members trained on Fire attack, search and rescue, and fire ground radio comunications. Special thanks to Chief Rick Dudley of WFFD for allowing SFD to come train! Great job by all!
