Due to the storm last night most of sledge is without electricity. This includes the pumps at our lift stations. You may experience slow pipe drainage. Hopefully power will be restored soon. The wells are ok. Thank you for your patience and thank GOD for protecting us.

Mid South Food Bank will be in Sledge, MS Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Give away starts at 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Applications are available at Sledge Town Hall, 8:00 -12:00, or call Julie at 662 541 255. You will need a picture ID.

THE SHELTER IN PLACE EXECUTIVE ORDER FROM GOVERNOR TATE REEVES WILL TAKE EFFECT FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2020, AT 5:00 PM. PLEASE STAY AT HOME UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, PLEASE DO NOT GATHER IN GROUPS. THIS IS THE OLNY WAY WE CAN SLOW THIS VIRUS DOWN. WE ALL HAVE TO DO OUR PART AND PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING AND SAFETY MEASURES AT ALL TIMES.

The town office is closed to the public. We will be there and are asking everyone to either call or blow the horn and we will come outside and get your bill money. Hopefully this will be safer for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and please don’t take chances with this virus. We don’t want anyone in our town to get sick.

The resolution signed by the county board of supervisors yesterday does not go into effect in the Town of Sledge until our board of aldermen adopt and sign it. This is the law. We will be getting this done today and it will be posted tomorrow for all to know the facts.
Also, I was told today that Senatobia was spraying for the virus, I called to check it out and was told no, that is just another piece of fiction on Facebook.
There are people who believe Facebook without checking the facts. This causes a lot of anxiety, etc. We are dealing with something now that needs our full attention and support for each other.
The Town of Sledge is working with the County, State and others that are so tirelessly working to keep us all safe.

The resolution signed by the board of supervisors regarding the covid19 virus will not be in effect in the town of Sledge until our Board of Aldermen have voted on and passed it. This is the law. We will be getting that done today and will have it posted tomorrow. If you have any questions, please call town hall or the mayor. Thank you.

Facebook users, please do not put info on your page if you do not know if it is true. For example the one saying Sledge is under a curfew. THIS IS FALSE. We have not set a curfew. We are following the CDC, PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION and EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT’S recommendations to help slow this virus. Please contact the TOWN OF SLEDGE BEFORE SPREADING THESE FALSE POSTS. We are all dealing with a very serious situation, so please stick with the facts.
All decisions made by The Town Of Sledge regarding the covid19 virus will be posted around town and at Town Hall.
As of right now we asking for everyone to practice social distancing and refrain from having unnecessary get togethers.
