THREE YEARS. 270 GRADUATES. 🚔💙

We are proud to officially wrap up the 3rd year of the Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown Youth Leadership Police Academy!

In just three short years, 270 youths in our community have graduated from this program learning about leadership, discipline, teamwork, responsibility, community service, and, most importantly, building positive relationships with the officers who serve their community.

A huge part of the Academy’s success comes from the incredible agencies that invest their time in our kids. Thank you to the Tarrytown Police Department for your total support! The Westchester County Police Department & the Westchester County Police PBA for giving our cadets an inside look at their Aviation and Marine Units, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office for showcasing their Mobile Command Unit and Drone Program, the Ardsley Police Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for their continued participation.

A special thank you to the Ossining Police Department and Sgt. Tompkins for bringing their SWAT truck and specialized equipment for our cadets. Their team went above and beyond to make the experience exciting and memorable for our kids!

This Academy represents what community policing is all about — being present, building relationships, mentoring our youth, and investing in the future of our community.

Week 2 in progress!

The little things our officers do on a regular basis that usually go unnoticed. Thank you Sleepy Hollow Animal Hospital for the shout out! This big guy ended staying with us at the Police Department for almost 24 hours! Our officers took great care of him. We are currently in the process of finding him a new forever home. Thanks to all that helped care for him.

One week down, one more to go!

We have officially completed the first week of this year’s Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown Youth Leadership Police Academy, and we’re excited to welcome our next group of young leaders for Week 2!

Now in our third year, the Academy has officially reached an incredible milestone: 200 young people have graduated from this program!

The Youth Leadership Police Academy is about so much more than learning about law enforcement. It is designed to challenge our youth, build confidence and character, teach teamwork and responsibility, encourage community service, and develop the leaders of tomorrow.

Our recruits learn the importance of discipline, respect, accountability, working together, giving back to their community, and believing in themselves.

None of this happens alone. It takes a village. We are incredibly grateful to all of the police officers, first responders, counselors (rising juniors & seniors), instructors, community partners, school district, local leaders, elected officials, parents, and everyone else who continues to support this program and invest in our kids.

Three years. 200 graduates. Countless memories and lessons. And we’re just getting started.

¡Ya una semana completa y nos queda una más!

¡Hemos completado oficialmente la primera semana de la Academia Juvenil de Liderazgo Policial de Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown, y estamos muy emocionados de darle la bienvenida a nuestro próximo grupo de jóvenes líderes para la segunda semana!

Ahora, en nuestro tercer año, la Academia ha alcanzado oficialmente un logro increíble: ¡200 jóvenes se han graduado de este programa!

La Academia Juvenil de Liderazgo Policial es mucho más que aprender sobre las fuerzas del orden. Está diseñada para desafiar a nuestros jóvenes, fortalecer su confianza y carácter, enseñarles el valor del trabajo en equipo y la responsabilidad, fomentar el servicio comunitario y ayudar a formar a los líderes del mañana.

Nuestros estudiantes aprenden la importancia de la disciplina, el respeto, la responsabilidad, el trabajo en equipo, el servicio a su comunidad y, sobre todo, a creer en sí mismos.

Nada de esto sería posible sin la ayuda de los demás. Estamos enormemente agradecidos con todos los oficiales de policía, paramédicos, bomberos, consejeros, instructores, socios comunitarios, el distrito escolar, líderes locales, funcionarios electos, padres y todas las demás personas que continúan apoyando este programa e invirtiendo en nuestros jóvenes.

Tres años. 200 graduados. Innumerables recuerdos y lecciones. Y esto apenas comienza.

Happy cops don’t leave their current jobs to work for a new employer.
He’s now smiling ear to ear, but we’re sad. We would like to wish Officer Dan Collins a happy and successful career at the Yonkers Police Department. In case you forget, Officer Collins served our country while also serving our village. He was also a valued member of our PBA board, serving as treasurer. We thank him for his service, his dedication and his friendship. Unfortunately we lost a great officer to another department. Stay in touch Dan!

🇺🇸 250 Years of Freedom. One Proud Community. 🇺🇸

This Fourth of July weekend, we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America—a nation built on courage, sacrifice, and the enduring promise of liberty.

To everyone celebrating this weekend, have fun, stay safe, and make smart decisions.

And to the couple who climbed the Empire State Building… impressive. 😅 We’ll stick to climbing in and out of patrol cars and answering calls at 3 a.m.

From all of us at the Sleepy Hollow PBA, thank you to the men and women in uniform, first responders, military members, veterans, and the families who support them every day.
