🍧 A huge shoutout to our friends at Loula’s Snoballs for helping keep the smiles (and snoballs) coming! 💙

Thank you to Shane Jenkins for donating flavor mixes and new blades for Sneaux1, making sure we can keep serving up icy treats and sweet memories for local kids all summer long.

As if that wasn't enough, Shane stopped by personally to give our snoball machine a tune-up and make sure it's running in top shape.

Today, the men and women of the STPSO remember 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗜. 𝙴𝙽𝙳 𝙾𝙵 𝚆𝙰𝚃𝙲𝙷 𝙹𝚞𝚗𝚎 𝟹, 𝟷𝟿𝟽𝟾 💙🖤 Sergeant Wagner was survived by his wife and daughter. He was 25 years old.

Sergeant Louis Wagner was shot and killed by unknown assailants as he drove from the sheriff's office.

His body was found in front of a business near Covington. It is suspected the assailant hid in the rear of his pickup truck as it was parked at the sheriff's office and was attacked as he drove home.

While one felon was on death row for capital murder, he pleaded to second-degree murder for killing Sergeant Wagner with three other men in retaliation for an arrest Sergeant Wagner made. The felon received another life sentence for Sergeant Wagner's murder. He ultimately recanted the accusations against the other men, and they were never tried for his murder. Years later, another serial killer confessed to killing Sergeant Wagner, but authorities concluded he could not have committed the murder. Because of the other confession, the felon recanted his confession. He claimed his confession to the murder was because he believed he could escape from the St. Tammany Parish jail while awaiting sentencing. He was executed in 1984.

Let us all remember Sgt. Wagner for his dedicated service to the citizens of St. Tammany Parish 💙🖤.

This is the side of law enforcement most people don’t always get to see.

Some days it’s tickets. Some days it’s taking bad guys to jail. It’s the occasional SWAT roll for Lt. Michael Helbach. And some days it’s carrying a kid who stole your heart.

While spending the day at Krewe de Camp, a camp for children and young adults with developmental disabilities, Lt. Helbach ended up carrying a little more than his gear…he carried a kid who stole his heart.

Members of the 🚓𝑺𝑻𝑷𝑺𝑶 visited 🌟Krewe de Camp🌟 and brought 🚓𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐎𝐘𝐒🛥️ yesterday. This camp is very dear to our hearts. 💙 Children with special needs spend the week here and develop new skills and strong relationships that last a lifetime. And, of course 🍧𝐒𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐱 𝟏 🍧 was out there slinging out some snowballs to these amazing kiddos.

📣Some key points about this very special camp:
- They serve kids from ages 6-22 with many different special needs.
- Our very own 𝑺𝒈𝒕. 𝑳𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝑫𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒔, who works in the STPSO Crime Lab, is one of the directors and has been affiliated with the camp since she was a teenager.

As a way of saying 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 for everything they do to make the parish fair possible every year, St. Tammany Parish Fair President Matt Willie, Vice President Melissa Primes Dottolo and St. Tammany Parish Fair Queen Miss Madison Hogan presented Captain Jeff Brady with a check for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Reserve Division. These volunteer deputies put in countless hours providing security for the annual fair and this donation will help to purchase supplies/equipment for their division.
