Free environmental and safety job training starts September 10 at the St. Bernard Parish Library.

Through Honeybee Strategies' EPA Brownfields Job Training Program, participants can earn industry-recognized certifications at no cost, including HAZWOPER 40, OSHA 10, OSHA Disaster Site Worker, and First Aid/CPR/AED.

Key Program Details:
-Dates: September 10 – October 6, 2026 (Mon–Thu, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
-Location: St. Bernard Parish Library, 3121 E. Judge Perez Dr., Meraux, LA Eligibility: Ages 18+, U.S. citizens, no prior experience needed
-Career Paths: Prepares for entry-level roles as Environmental Field Techs, Safety Techs, Remediation Techs, and Disaster Response Workers

WIC nutrition services are now available on Wednesdays at the St. Tammany Parish Health Unit in Slidell for moms and children under 5.
