Fleet Reserve Association Branch 222, Slidell, Louisiana

A nonprofit organization comprised of enlisted personnel (active duty, reserve, and retired) of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.

We support the Fleet Reserve Association at the local level. We recruit the eligible members through being visible at local events where we have a booth at Street Fairs, Parades, and other community events. We sell American Flags, all of the Services Flags and other patriotic items.

Americanism Essay Contest For Grades 7–12
The Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) sponsors an annual essay contest to promote the spirit of Americanism and Patriotism among our country’s youth. FRA's Americanism Essay Contest is open to all students, grades 7 through 12, including those who are home schooled in the Slidell, Pearl River, Lacombe and Baton Rouge area. Students are invited to submit a 350-word essay through the local Slidell FRA Branch 222 before the December 1st deadline. This year’s subject is “What Does Patriotism Mean to Me?.” Local winners are presented with awards and forwarded for competition at the regional level and regional winners compete for national prizes.

Carry the Load is bringing their National Day of Service & Remembrance to the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, and we want YOU there.

Gold Star Children's Day is observed annually on August 1st to honor the sons and daughters of military service members who lost their lives in the line of duty. It recognizes the profound sacrifice, grief, and resilience of these young people.
