"How is Rocky?, the young raccoon who survived the car accident".
Here she is 😘
After a couple days of letting her body rest and her spirit decompress - she joined a group of three little raccoons that are still in my care. It took another additional few days for her to let her guard down and feel completely comfortable. Rocky is enjoying her life again! Her nature is very sweet. *sometimes older baby raccoons can be a bit spicy.
Not her though ~ she's a little fearful but never aggressive. I look forward to moving her into the large outdoor enclosure this weekend. I'm so proud of this girl! More than anything - her recovery has filled my heart to the brim. ❤️

Whoops I miss identified Rocky in the first few minutes of the video but then I get it right! 😂🙄😄
Rocky is really come out of her shell in the last 24 hours. It's absolutely a joy to witness. She's just a beautiful girl too. Her eyes are very expressive. Enjoy!

Good morning. I was delighted to see Rocky exploring her cage and having a bit of fun with her new siblings. Since joining them she has pretty much kept to herself, in a corner of the enclosure. Eating and drinking but still very quiet. Sometimes she'd get a little snarky towards them if they tried to interact with her. My heart soared this morning as I saw her sitting on top of one of the hammocks at the very top of the cage. Her siblings full of plenty of monkey business after everybody had their breakfast. Rocky decided to join in. I'll have to make sure I get a video for everybody later.
I hope this makes your day as much as it did mine. Our little girl is healing 🥰

Update: A wonderful young man offered his property in a nearby community! It sounds perfect 😊

Good morning. Again this year I am looking for release sites for the raccoons that are currently in my care. Preferably land with a small woods and access to nearby water. If you think you are able to help with this please leave a comment or message me. Babies can only be released on private property.

I thought this was such a wonderful idea to ask volunteers who would be willing to make some nesting boxes for raccoons. The plans are in the comments. 😍

We need den boxes!!!

Gordon Wildlife is in need of at least ten of these den boxes to support our releases this year. Do we have any volunteers out there who might be able to make some for us in the very near future? If needed, we can buy the wood. I will post the plans in the comments. We use the raccoon one, obviously. The only modification is that we put the hole on the side and not the front, although either works.

Any help out there for halfway houses for our raccoons??
