RE: Injury Crash in Construction Zone

On Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 12:23pm, Slinger Police Officers were dispatched to the construction area of Highway 60 over I41 for a report of a head-on crash with unknown injuries. Officers responded to the scene and identified two vehicles involved with severe damage and airbag deployment. Both vehicles were occupied by drivers only.

The investigation showed one vehicle, operated by a 59-year old female, was eastbound on Highway 60 and turning North onto I41. The second vehicle, operated by an 18-year old female, was driving westbound on Highway 60 to cross the bridge over I41. The two vehicles collided in the westbound lanes of Highway 60.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance from the scene with suspected non-critical injuries. The location of the crash required Highway 60 westbound to be closed at Hillside Road for approximately one hour. Slinger Police Department appreciates the assistance provided by Wisconsin State Patrol, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Slinger Fire Department, and Lifestar Ambulance.

We further appreciate the public’s assistance with redirecting traffic to allow aid to be rendered to those involved, and ask everyone to maintain safe speeds and vigilance when traveling through construction zones.

RE: Construction Site Injury / Road Closure

On Tuesday, August 04, 2026 at 10:30am, Slinger Police Department responded to a residential construction site on Limestone Lane for a report of a construction crew member that had fallen off a ladder from the first story to the concrete basement foundation below. The fallen individual, a 29-year old male, was reported to have experienced a significant injury. There was no stairwell access to the basement level of the construction.

With tremendous teamwork, first responders were able to safely extract the fallen individual from the basement and transfer them to Flight-For-Life who then transported the patient to a trauma center for further care. Limestone Lane was shut down for approximately one hour to facilitate rescue efforts.

Slinger Police Department was assisted by Slinger Fire Department, Lifestar Ambulance, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
