A second soliciting permit was issued this afternoon to Coast to Coast Technologies (Brightspeed). They will be soliciting to offer Brightspeed internet. They will be in the Borough until February 24, 2026.

A soliciting permit was just issued to Power Home Construction. They will be in town today only between 10am and 8pm. They will going around offering free estimates on windows, roofs, and siding.

SLIPPERY ROCK BOROUGH RESIDENTS AND RESIDENTS OF THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

We have had numerous reports made to us about thefts from vehicles. These incidents are happening throughout the entire Borough where people are accessing unlocked vehicles and stealing whatever they can get their hands on.

PLEASE LOCK YOUR VEHICLES AND REMOVE ALL VALUABLES FROM YOUR VEHICLES LIKE PURSES, WALLETS, MONEY, ELECTRONICS AND FI****MS.

To those that may have security cameras....... if you have any videos of people late at night walking on your property, checking door handles or other strange activity, please share them with us. A seemingly harmless video to some could be a huge help to us.

CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION NOTICE


The Slippery Rock Borough Civil Service Commission seeks applicants to establish a full-time / part-time Police Officer eligibility list. Application packets are available at the Slippery Rock Borough Municipal Building, 306 East Water Street, Slippery Rock, PA 16057, Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. Completed applications must be returned in person (email not acceptable) no later than 4:30 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Slippery Rock Borough and the Civil Service Commission assume no responsibility for applications submitted by mail. Slippery Rock Borough Civil Service rules and regulations apply to testing. Mandatory pre-employment includes physical fitness, written and oral tests, background check, and medical/psychological exams. The Physical Agility Test date is Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 9:00AM at the Slippery Rock Area High School (football field) located at 201 Kiester Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057. The Written Exam will take place Saturday, December 13, 2025 immediately following the Physical Agility test at the Slippery Rock Borough Building located at 306 East Water Street, Slippery Rock, PA 16057. Applicants that qualify for Oral Examinations will be notified of the date, time and location of the Oral Examinations. Applicants must furnish proof of graduation from a MPOETC approved Police Training School and currently able to be certified under Act 120, possess a diploma from an accredited H.S. or GED, valid PA driver’s license, be a U.S. citizen, and be at least 21 years old prior to the completed application submission deadline. Due to the forecasted inclement weather for Thursday evening, Trick or Treat has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 1st.

👻 Parade: The Halloween Parade will kick off from Ginger Hill and end at the Fire Station.
🍬 Trick or Treat: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
