***WIND AND SNOW ADVISORY UPDATE***
..WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...Cameron, Elk, McKean, Potter, Tioga, and Warren Counties.

* WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Gusty winds will continue today across the
Advisory area. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will produce
locally stronger gusts and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings may be
needed for wind gusts > 58 mph.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 2
AM EDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 4
inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania.

* WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 2 AM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Monday evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates >1" are likely this evening as
cold air surges in and changes rain to snow in the wake of a cold
front. Rapid accumulation on roadways is possible as most of the
snow will fall after sunset.

NWS Partners -
Severe thunderstorms are possible today ahead of an approaching cold front.
The greatest threat appears to be from Interstate 80 southward.
Damaging winds and a few tornadoes are the primary threats. Tornadoes could be as strong as EF-2 intensity.
The biggest uncertainty lies with how much instability will be present for storms.
Changes since last briefing: Minor increase to the tornado and wind threat probabilities across south central PA toward the Lower Susquehanna Valley.

The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Northwestern Elk County in north central Pennsylvania...
Central McKean County in north central Pennsylvania...
Southeastern Warren County in north central Pennsylvania...

* Until 430 PM EST.

* At 335 PM EST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Tionesta,
moving east at 55 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Kane, Sheffield, Smethport, Wetmore, Wilcox, James City, Rew,
Cyclone, Ludlow, Marshburg, Westline, and Kinzua Bridge State Park.

Radar has indicated rotation within this severe thunderstorm.
Although a tornado is not immediately likely, tornadoes can develop
quickly during severe thunderstorms.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows.

This thunderstorm is capable of producing all types of severe weather
including extremely large hail, destructive straight line winds and
tornadoes. Move quickly to a safe shelter such as an interior room, a
bathroom, closet or basement.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EST for north central
Pennsylvania.

THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BRADFORD, CLEARFIELD, COUDERSPORT,
DUBOIS, EMPORIUM, JOHNSTOWN, RIDGWAY, SOMERSET, ST. MARYS,
AND WARREN.

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total ice accumulations up to
one tenth of an inch. Snow and sleet accumulation less than one
inch.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions will impact the Tuesday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Freezing rain will change to rain by early
this afternoon.
