Smith River Elementary School is proud of it's strong academic tradition. STAR test results and benchmark testing scores have been excellent over the years. But, most importantly, Smith River Elementary School is a safe environment that allows students to not only thrive academically, but also, emotionally and socially. ff consisting of ten regular education teachers, two Accelerated Learning Class teachers, one special education teacher, one speech/language specialist and one administrator. Part-time staff includes instructional aides, librarian, music teacher, psychologist and school nurse. Smith River Elementary School provides additional educational opportunities through the Indian Education and English Language Learner programs. Our student population is diverse: 50 percent Hispanic, 25 percent Native American and 25 percent Caucasian children. We have a free and reduced-price lunch count of 79 percent.

Thank you to our Board Members for approving our Land Acknowledgment Sign, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended last night's Board Meeting.

We are proud to share that Smith River Elementary School is the first school to have a Land Acknowledgment Sign installed on campus. This meaningful addition reflects our commitment to honoring and recognizing the original stewards of the land on which our school stands.
