Over the last two weeks, Class 14 has taken their training beyond the classroom and into the field!

🚒 Kenly Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.
Cadets completed SCBA facepiece fit testing with the assistance of Kenly Fire Department. They also experienced firehouse life through training, equipment checks, station duties, and sharing lunch with the crew.

📡 Johnston County Emergency Services
Cadets toured the 911 Center, observed operations, and learned how emergency communications and response are coordinated throughout Johnston County.

🏃Smithfield-Selma High School
Cadets completed their first fitness assessment, establishing a baseline as they prepare for the physical demands of the fire service.

This is local partnership in action. Our cadets are learning from the agencies and professionals they will one day work alongside to serve Johnston County and surrounding areas.

These partnerships give our cadets more than training—they give them an understanding of the community they are preparing to serve.

Thank you to Kenly Fire Department, Johnston County Emergency Services, and Smithfield-Selma High School for investing in Class 14 and helping us build the future of the Johnston County fire service.

Our Night Certification Series recently traveled to Pick Your Part - Raleigh in Clayton to complete their hands-on training and practical skills for Rescue Operations 1.

A huge thank you to Clayton Fire Department, Pine Level Fire Department and Selma Fire Department for providing equipment, expertise, and sharing their knowledge with our students. Partnerships like these provide invaluable real-world training opportunities and help prepare the next generation of firefighters and rescuers.

🚒 **Every firefighter starts somewhere.**

Today, this classroom sits empty. On Monday, it will be filled with 26 cadets who have made the decision to answer the call and begin their journey toward becoming firefighters.

Over the next 20 weeks, these cadets will be challenged mentally and physically. They will be pushed beyond their comfort zones, tested through adversity, and expected to give their best every single day.

They will learn the skills, discipline, and teamwork required to earn the title of firefighter. They will build each other up, overcome challenges together, and lay the foundation for a career built on service, teamwork, and commitment.

This is where their journey begins. 🔥
