๐Ÿ† ISLE Inspire Award โ€“ Pride of Baltimore II ๐Ÿ’ก

Each month, IWCS celebrates outstanding individuals and partners who truly Inspire, Succeed, Lead, and Empower in our schools and community. ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ’ช

For May, we were honored to present the ISLE Inspire Award to the Pride of Baltimore II during a virtual meeting with Captain Jan Miles and members of the crew.

Through an extraordinary partnership connected to Sail250ยฎ Virginia and the Adopt-A-Ship program, the Pride of Baltimore II has provided Isle of Wight County students with unique opportunities to connect history, innovation, and global culture through authentic, hands-on learning experiences.

From exploring maritime history and the science of sailing to engaging in creative, student-driven projects, this partnership is inspiring curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking in the next generation of learners.

As a sailing ambassador of the Chesapeake Bay and American maritime heritage, the Pride of Baltimore II is helping bring history to life in meaningful and memorable waysโ€”and for that, we are proud to recognize them with the ISLE Inspire Award.

๐Ÿ‘ Please join us in congratulating the captain and crew of the Pride of Baltimore II!

๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’™ Congratulations to the graduates and honorees of the Isle of Wight County Schools Alternative Learning Center!

On June 3, we celebrated students and adult learners whose stories are powerful reminders that success is not defined by a single path. Through programs including ISAEP, Adult & Continuing Education, English Language Learners, and Integrated Education & Training (Welding), these individuals demonstrated perseverance, determination, and a commitment to achieving their goals.

As we prepare to celebrate the graduating classes of Smithfield High School and Windsor High School this week, we are equally proud to recognize the accomplishments of those who found success through alternative pathways and nontraditional learning opportunities.

At IWCS, we believe every learner deserves the opportunity to discover their unique gifts and talents. Whether earning a GED, learning English, gaining workforce skills, or preparing for the next chapter in life, the Alternative Learning Center provides meaningful opportunities that help students and adult learners become college, career, and life ready.

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to the 2026 ALC graduates:

โญ Jesse Collins
โญ Nashawn Greene
โญ Angel Rodgers-Branch
โญ Cristhian Bautista Mejia
โญ Zoey Grain
โญ Christian Newman

We also celebrate the many students and adult learners who were recognized for their perseverance, leadership, growth, and dedication throughout the year. Your achievements inspire us, and we are proud to be part of your journey.

Please join us in congratulating these remarkable learners and celebrating the many pathways to success available in Isle of Wight County Schools! ๐Ÿ‘
