If you are a parent in Johnston or surrounding counties with a child approaching grades K-12, we invite you to explore the many advantages of Neuse Charter School, Johnston County's first and only free public charter school. Officially opened on August 27, 2007, the school offers a rigorous studies program with foreign language as early as kindergarten and an honors/college prep focused curriculum

in the high school. NCS is a free public school, chartered by the State of N.C. and funded by state and county per pupil allotments as well as federal grants. Any child who is a legal resident of North Carolina and who has not been expelled from another school can attend. NCS provides instruction for grades K-12 in an environment that maximizes student learning. Neuse Charter School is not able to offer transportation, although assistance will be provided to arrange carpooling, public transportation, or other means for getting children to school. Additionally, NCS does not provide food services, but we do offer lunch options throughout the week for purchase.

Sophomore Gavin Monroe recently participated in the NC House Page Program. The North Carolina House Page Program offers a unique and firsthand educational experience to students from across the state. Each year, the program provides a captivating insight into state government by connecting students with elected leaders of North Carolina. Pages will have the opportunity to observe North Carolina lawmakers, staff, lobbyists, and constituents working together in the legislative process. Neuse is proud to have been represented so well by Gavin Monroe.
