The 2nd graders from Isle of Wight & Surry County, Isle of Wight Academy, and Nansemond Suffolk Academy concluded our three-day Farm Days event. The students enjoyed rotating around various stations, learning about cattle, pigs, milking cows, forestry, wildlife, farm equipment, germination of a soybean, and a sweet treat to end the day!

This year marks the 27th year of Farm Day. I believe it gets better every year. We reached over 1800 students over the three-day event.

Thank you to all our volunteers for their support and dedication to Farm Days. We couldn’t do it without you!

Suffolk Farm Days 2026 was a success! We would like to thank Billy (Peanut SWCD Director) & Jesse Lane Gwaltney (Indika Farms) for hosting this event. This was the 27th year and it gets better each year. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this event. We could not make it happen without your support. It sure takes village and we are thankful for our partners who support this annual event.

Peanut SWCD hosted the Area VI Dominion Energy Envirothon at Windsor Castle Park on April 15th.

Smithfield High School student’s participated in the event this year to represent the PSWCD.

Thank you to all the other Area VI District’s and volunteers who helped out with this fun filled day outside and learning about protecting our natural resources.
