On Monday March 27, 2023, at approximately 9:30am, an unknown white male entered United Community Bank (403 S. Brightleaf Blvd), presented a note to a cashier demanding money. The cashier gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect left the scene on foot. The suspect was wearing a blue and black Carolina Panthers toboggan, sunglasses, surgical mask, grey sport coat, blue button-down shirt, khaki pants, and grey Hey Dude style shoes.

During the initial investigation officers located camera footage from a near by home showing the suspect leaving the area in a silver passenger car with tinted windows and dark rims.

Anyone with information about the identity of this person and vehicle is asked to contact Detective D. R. Johnson at 919-934-2121 or Smithfield Crime Stoppers at 919-934-2661. A reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in this case.

The Smithfield Police Department is asking for assistance in locating a 14 year old missing juvenile, Harmony Gallishaw. Harmony (left picture below) was last seen on March 18, 2023 at the Super 8 Hotel in Smithfield NC. She is a black female last seen wearing a green jacket, black pants, waist beads, black or pink shirt, and black shoes with multicolored polka dots. She has 4 piercings in each ear and a nose piercing in each nostril. Harmony is possibly in the company of Zaniylah Bowles (right picture), a 15 year old juvenile, who has been reported missing in Selma NC. If you have any information about the whereabouts of Harmony Gallishaw or Zaniylah Bowles, please contact the Smithfield Police Department at 919-934-2121. The Smithfield Police Department undergoes its CALEA accreditation process every four years. The Accreditation Public Comment portal receives comments regarding an agency's compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the participating agency with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.

IMPORTANT: CALEA is not an investigatory body and subsequently the public portal should not be used to submit information for such purposes. Additionally, there will be no response other than acknowledgement to submissions; however, the information will be considered in context to its relevancy to compliance with standards and the tenets of CALEA® Accreditation.
