We’re taking a little break from our usual Business Highlights this week to visit the Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield. Of course you’ll find plenty to read, but today’s library offers so much more! Programs for children and adults, technology, community resources, meeting spaces and plenty of reasons to stop by.

Friday, April 23rd: We kick off the celebrations with Cake at the Courthouse! 🍰

April 24th – April 30th: Special daily anniversary events, historical moments, and community fun across town all week long!

Saturday, May 1st: The grand finale! A massive, town-wide birthday celebration right here at the Ham & Yam Festival! 🍠🐷🎈

Town Hall will be closed Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8th.

If you like country music that doesn’t stay in just one lane, Antique Outlaws should be on your calendar. From classic and outlaw country to Southern rock and today’s hits, they’ll bring a little bit of everything to the Neuse River Amphitheater when Fall Fridays on Front returns September 11.

Make a night of it in Downtown Smithfield. Grab dinner at one of our downtown restaurants or from a food truck at the amphitheater, then stick around for a FREE concert starting at 7 p.m.

Paying by check? Our payment drop box is located outside Town Hall and is available anytime, including after regular business hours. Please remember: the drop box is for checks only. No cash.

Of course, customers are always welcome to visit us inside Town Hall during regular business hours.

Today's the day, Ava fans!

Turner Classic Movies is celebrating Ava Gardner ALL DAY today with 11 of her films as part of Summer Under the Stars. Whether you've been an Ava fan for years or have never seen one of her movies, today is a pretty good time to tune in.

And if watching a few movies has you wanting to learn more about the woman behind them, we're lucky to have the Ava Gardner Museum right here in Downtown Smithfield NC.

It was pretty obvious our latest Smithfield Business Highlight took us to The Diner, a locally owned Downtown Smithfield favorite serving breakfast, lunch and great home cooking that will leave even the best of cooks impressed.

Located on Market Street across from the Ava Gardner Museum, it’s been a gathering place for good food and familiar faces for nearly 20 years.
