Congratulations to our Community Paramedic Program for receiving the 2026 Community Health Impact Award. 🏆

In partnership with UNC Health Johnston, our Community Paramedic Program works to reduce recurring hospital visits and EMS visits by helping residents manage their health at home. Through our Post Overdose Response Team (PORT), our community paramedics also provide follow-up care after an overdose, connecting individuals with treatment, recovery services, and ongoing support.

We’re proud of this team for their care beyond the emergency call. 💙

Today, our Fire Marshal’s Office completed their first periodic fire inspection of Wilson's Mills High School! 🔥🔍

Periodic fire inspections play an important role in ensuring buildings continue to meet fire safety standards, identifying potential hazards, and maintaining a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

💡 DID YOU KNOW? Our Fire Marshal’s Office inspects all Johnston County Public Schools facilities twice a year, with follow-up inspections after 30 days to ensure identified issues have been corrected. This is just one of the many ways we work behind the scenes to keep Johnston County safe!

To close out , our team partnered with Four Oaks Volunteer Fire Dept to educate some of our youngest residents on fire safety. 🔥🧯

Students at Four Oaks Elementary School got to hear from our Fire Marshal staff on ways to make their home safer, as well as our Emergency Management Division on being prepared for emergencies.

Four Oaks Fire Department also showcased their turnout gear, so students know what firefighters look like, and even let students operate a real fire hose! 💧

A big thank you to Four Oaks Elementary School for having us again this year to share fire safety tips with students!

A clean lint screen doesn’t always mean a clean dryer. 👕 🧦

Lint can also build up inside the dryer cabinet, vent pipe and exhaust system, increasing the risk of a fire and making your dryer work harder. 🔥

Clean the lint screen after every load, and have your dryer vent inspected and cleaned periodically.

Mail, paper towels, boxes and other items can ignite if a burner is turned on accidentally.

Keep anything that can burn away from the stovetop and cooking area.

Power strips only give you more places to plug things in... they don’t increase how much electricity the circuit can safely handle.

Avoid plugging multiple high-wattage devices into the same strip, and never overload your outlets.
