Johnston County Schools (JCS) uses Facebook to share important information with our public and engage in an open and respectful dialogue. To help us accomplish this goal, we ask that you abide by the following guidelines:

•Open conversation – not personal issues or complaints about students and/or school personnel. This page is not intended to circumvent regula

r communication channels for sharing personal issues and concerns, including personnel matters and student concerns. Comments regarding a personal issue with the district, a school, student or a staff member will be removed.
•Be respectful. Personal attacks or comments that are deemed offensive to any member of our community will not be tolerated. Running for a political office? Publish a personal page, and leave ours for sharing news and insights about our district, schools and activities.
•Stay on topic. This is a page dedicated to the education of students of JCS. Let’s keep the conversation related to our district, schools and activities. Comments of all kinds are welcome so long as they directly relate to our district, schools and activities.
•Have a question for a specific employee? Contact them privately. Fans should not expect responses to every question or comment posted on this page.
•Be aware of the mission. The mission of JCS is education. Please be certain that your comments and posts are appropriate for an educational environment and fans of all ages.
•Be factual. Blatantly inaccurate information will not be allowed. False information will be removed and factual information will be posted.
•Employees of JCS may have personal pages. Don’t be surprised or offended if your request to “friend” them is ignored. District policy encourages staff to keep their personal lives personal.
•This page is yours and we want you to feel comfortable sharing your views about JCS, schools or activities. However, abuse of the above guidelines can lead to removal of a specific posting or the blocking/removal from our page. Johnston County Schools uses Facebook native archiving platform. Congratulations to Sarah Doran for being Innovation Academy’s May Character Education Student of the Month! Sarah embodies respect and inclusivity, leading with confidence and compassion, whether she is in the classroom or shining on stage. Her loyal, supportive spirit constantly lifts others up, making her a true reflection of a Pioneer!

Sarah Doran exemplifies respect through the kindness and warmth she shows everyone. Her uplifting spirit makes others feel seen, valued, and included.

In theatre, her creativity and leadership shine as she encourages others and brings out their best. Sarah creates a positive environment in every class and rehearsal, leading with confidence and compassion.

Loyal and supportive, Sarah stands by her peers through successes and challenges, building trust and unity. She truly reflects the Innovation Academy and JCPS spirit.

Huge congratulations to Dr. Schnavia De Gourville for being named our May Certified Employee of the Month! We couldn't be prouder of her dedication to making a difference and the way she champions her 8th-graders.

A huge shout out to Dr. Schnavia De Gourville, 8th grade science teacher at Innovation Academy- Johnston County Public Schools! She is our Certified Employee of the Month for May!

Dr. Schnavia De Gourville had plans to pursue an engineering degree in college. Following a School of Education presentation, she realized quickly that she wanted a career in which she could make a difference everyday and have fun doing it.

She wants to continue encouraging her students to become their best selves and provide moments where they can celebrate each other through success and stumbles.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

This May, let’s pause and remind ourselves: mental health matters just as much as physical health.

Many of us carry silent battles with stress from school, pressure from responsibilities, or struggles we don’t always talk about. Mental Health Awareness Month is here to break the silence, reduce stigma, and remind us that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Together, we can create safe spaces where conversations about mental health are welcomed, support is offered, and healing is celebrated.
