Smiths Water & Sewer Authority For Smiths Water and Sewer Authority, our most important goal is to provide our customers with a clean, safe supply of drinking water.

We are proud to have been selected as the best operated water treatment facility and the best operated distribution system in the state for three consecutive years by the Alabama Water and Pollution Control Association. The Authority currently serves a limited area with sanitary sewer service. Our goal is to expand this service area quickly as budgetary considerations and the procurement of easeme

nts allow. Smiths Water and Sewer Authority is a member in good standing of The American Water Works Association, The Alabama Rural Water Association, and the Alabama Water and Pollution Control Association. Our treatment plant operators as well as our distribution personnel are continuously attending classes and conferences in order to maintain certification.
