Shipping containers were put into position on the concrete slab on the south end of the training field. Budco Enterprises, a Hauppauge Construction firm that has always been very supportive of the fire departments here, donated their time to move the containers into place. When finished, this will become a smoke discipline/search training evolution.

Smithtown Fire Department probationary firefighter drill at Mankuski in July of 2020. Tragically, firefighter James Shellock, who is in a number of these photos, was killed in a motorcycle crash less than a month after this drill. Firefighter Shellock was dedicated, well known and well liked. His loss hit the local firefighting and EMS community hard. Continue to Rest In Peace James.
