The Smithtown Department of Public Safety is proud to announce the graduation of our newest class of Park Rangers!

Yesterday morning, the Town of Islip Law Enforcement Academy hosted the graduation ceremony for Recruit Class 2026-01, which also included officers from the Islip Park Ranger Division, Islip Fire Marshal’s Office, Long Island MacArthur Airport Law Enforcement, and Town of Babylon Park Rangers.

We extend our greatest congratulations to Park Rangers Keith Barters, Chelsey McCann, and Shane Weeks; and wish them all the best for long and safe careers!

Athletic gear can get expensive — especially with how quickly kids grow out of sizes, and equipment.

The **Smithtown Sports Equipment Exchange** will be open later today at **New York Avenue School**, giving families the chance to pick up **free sports equipment** for their children.

There is plenty of lacrosse, hockey, baseball, soccer, golf, football gear, recreational games, and more available.
New York Avenue School / Administrative Building:
June 17–18, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
