This last Saturday we had the amazing opportunity to take some pretty cool kids shopping! We got to have a great breakfast. After that we loaded up on the bus and headed out to Target to shop until we dropped. Once the kids had their carts loaded up, we headed back into town with a lights and sirens es**rt!
After a well earned snack, we played multiple games in the gym with Officers while we waited for parent pick up. The kids and Officers had a great time.

We want to thank everyone who donated either their time or a monetary donation to make this all happen. We couldn’t do it without you guys.

We also want to thank the Platte County Sheriff's Department for allowing our very own Deputy Mendoza to come back home for the day to help out! Our uniforms may be different, but our heart for helping children never changes.

This last Saturday we had the joy and privilege to take children from our community and spend some time with them.
Our journey started with some donuts from Donut Palace and some tasty treats, courtesy from our friends at GT Towing.
We then set out for Target where each child was assigned a first responder to shop with. Once their carts were full of toys, clothings, gifts and more, the children were given a full Police es**rt of lights and sirens back to Family Worship Center.
Santa took time from his very busy schedule to stop by and visit with the children.
This was a blast for the children and as well as our Officers and Firefighters. We could not have done this without the help of our community.

We are very proud of our Officers and Firefighters for donating their time even though we are experiencing low staffing and many extra shifts.

It is with great happiness that we announce that because of the remaining Officers at Smithville Police Department, we are able to participate in our annual Shop With A Cop trip!
We want to again say that it deeply saddened us to make our previous announcement. However, due to sacrifices made by our Officers despite working long hours accompanied by weeks of overtime, they are pulling together along with Smithville Area Fire Protection District to make this happen! Our Officers already give so much of their time to the community and once again shown their community love and respect by taking time away from their families despite the recent low staffing complications.
We take pride in our organization and express deep gratitude to our team for coming together for the children of this community.

It deeply saddens us to make this post.

After an extensive amount of conversation, we regret to inform everyone that due to staffing issues that we are currently experiencing, we are unable to have Shop With A Cop this year. Please know that we did not take this decision lightly. We at Smithville PD want to give the children the attention and devotion they deserve.

We hope everyone has a great Holiday season and we are hopeful to come back next year bigger and stronger than ever!

Our Smithville Shop With A Cop event commenced on Saturday 12/16. Boy was it a good one! We had the opportunity to take 14 wonderful kiddos.

We just wanted to take this time to thank some great business and people in our community that made this possible :

Well that is a wrap for 2022 Shop with a Cop here in Smithville. Thank you to all who helped us make this possible. All of the money that was used this year was from DONATIONS!!! Thank you to all who donated and made Christmas possible for our local kiddos. Y’all are the best!

Now we start preparing for next year! We are looking forward to trying some fundraising. From your SWAC crew thank you, Merry Christmas and we’ll see you next year!

Y’all ready for a HUGE amount of fun and Photos from our annual shopping trip today?!?! We took a total of 14 kids and they looked like they had a blast. We had surprise Guests of the Grinch and Santa and Mrs. Clause.

We started our day bright and early at Humphrey’s with a wonderful breakfast. Thank you guys for your help and generosity.
