Steve Sullivan STRUCK OUT and is mega funded by builders and developers!

Strike 1. Actually a foul ball. Steve misled the public about court finances and tried to take away our court and our right to vote.

Strike 2. Steve allowed town employees to be mistreated, bullied and intimidated and did not address out of control management.

Strike 3. With his hand out, Steve Sullivan took in $49,800 in the month of October, including an obscene amount of money from the development industry, to bankroll his campaign. This was after he tried to trick people from the last quarterly report which did not show any (he tried to “slide” by with deception by delaying their donations until October, but he got tagged!).

Steve Sullivan struck out when we needed him most. Vote NO on Sullivan and send a message that the Town of Smyrna is NOT FOR SALE. Help us spread the word. If we want to stop the growth madness, we have to elect other people who aren’t beholden to development industry.

Steve Sullivan is desperate and now attacking another candidate with misleading ads. Sullivan knows what the rest of us know. If he doesn’t win, the party is over for mega development and there will be much more scrutiny on the current regime. Tell your friends and neighbors to vote NO on Steve Sullivan!

Before voting, all Smyrna residents need to know what happened with town management that caused an outside investigator to come in. But Mayor Reed refuses to release the report. Why? Why can’t we know what is in the report before we vote? Why can’t we know who was aware of the problems? What is being hidden? If the report came back all good, it would have been released everywhere to show there was no problem. Instead the town manager left right away and the citizens are left in the dark. Do you think we should be able to access the report we paid for as citizens before we vote?

We are hearing people are upset about a candidate and supporters wearing campaign shirts and parking some big signs at the fish fry Rotary had this weekend after being instructed not to be political. Can anyone provide more details on what this is all about? Did other candidates do this too?

ANYBODY BUT SULLIVAN! We have had numerous questions about who to support for Town Council. Of the six candidates that qualified, five stood up to Mayor Reed and the failed former town manager during the referendum and helped the Vote No side. Steve Sullivan is the only candidate that supported the Vote Yes campaign, and he was very active and vocal about it. Our view is to pick three from the other five.

COUNCIL ELECTION UPDATE. Here is who has picked up petitions to run for Town Council. The deadline is about two weeks out. More could run. Watch for updates closer to the election. We will post fundraising information to see how much builders and developers donate to each candidate and if they are on the town's planning committee.

Pay attention to this meeting! Hopefully it is televised so the public can watch who the town manager finalists are.

The Town Council will hold a Special Called Meeting on Wednesday, June 26, at 10:00 am at Smyrna Town Hall, 315 S. Lowry Street. Public Comments are reserved for the beginning of the meeting. Each speaker is allowed 3 minutes. If the former town manager is able to be at a groundbreaking this week with a shovel, shouldn’t the mayor and council be able to release the investigation about him? This seems tone deaf after the way employees were treated does it not?
