Hancock County Schools — Remote Learning Announcement

Hancock County Schools will transition to Remote Learning on Friday, August 28, and Monday, August 31, due to an increase in illness among students, teachers, and staff.

This temporary transition will provide an opportunity to thoroughly disinfect our school buildings and, hopefully, help slow the spread of illness throughout our school community.

Elementary school students will have take home packets from their teachers.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to protect the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

The After School program will begin on September 1st. Permission forms will be sent home in the next week or so!

Reminder: 3rd-5th grade girls’ basketball tryouts are tomorrow and Thursday. Your child must have a permission slip turned in to stay. Please send all items they’ll need for tryouts with them tomorrow. We will not be able to call for items that have been forgotten at home. Tryouts will end at 4:30.

Boys’ Basketball tryouts will be Monday, August 17th and Tuesday, August 18th from 3-4:30. A permission slip will be sent out on and it must be signed and returned to the office for your child to be able to stay for tryouts. This is for 3rd-5th grade boys interested in playing for the school team.

Girls’ Basketball tryouts will be Wednesday, August 12th and Thursday, August 13th from 3-4:30. A permission slip will be sent out on Monday and it must be signed and returned to the office for your child to be able to stay for tryouts. This is for 3rd-5th grade girls interested in playing for the school team.
