If your student will be entering kindergarten next year, be sure to sign up now for Kindergarten Jumpstart!

Kindergarten Jumpstart is a FREE program for incoming kindergarteners that takes place a few weeks before the school year begins. Students participate in a variety of learning activities, learn basic daily school routines, and become familiar with school surroundings before school starts in September!

All of our elementary schools offer Jumpstart; however, participation is optional for students. Students must be enrolled in the Monroe School District for the 2026-27 school year to attend Jumpstart.

When is Jump Start?
-Chain Lake, Fryelands, Maltby and Salem Woods: August 24-26, 2026 from 8:45–11:45 a.m.
-Frank Wagner only: August 24-27, 2026 from 8:45-11:45 a.m.

We are proud to announce that Maltby Elementary has been recognized by the Washington School Recognition Program for Closing Gaps during the 2024–2025 school year!

The program highlights schools that demonstrate exceptional progress in key areas of student success and only 16% of schools in Washington were recognized this year.

Schools recognized for Closing Gaps have shown improved outcomes for student groups in both growth and overall achievement on the statewide Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA), as well as improved attendance.

Way to go, Maltby Elementary! 👏
