Water service is shut down for about 25 customers on Ninth Street between Avenue A and Root Avenue to connect a new water main to the existing system. Service should be restored by 3 PM this afternoon.

When water service has returned, customers may experience short term discoloration and/or air in the water lines. If this happens, run the cold water ONLY, starting at the highest point of the structure, once the water is running clear and smooth (no spitting from air), move to the other cold water taps and flush each one until running clear and smooth. Depending on the plumbing system in the building this could take several minutes per cold water tap.
