The Snoqualmie Police Explorer Program is a youth program for kids between the ages of 14 and 21 years of age. The Police Explorer Post is a subsidiary of Boy Scouts of America, Learning for Life Program and the Washington State Law Enforcement Explorer Advisor Group (WLEEA) and Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC). To learn more about WLEEA you can find them on the web at
www.WLEEA.org. All of our Explorers participate in our program as an extra-curricular volunteer activity. Every year our explorer program is asked to work about 5 to 10 community events. Twice a year we have weeklong Police Explorer Academies. The explorers receive training in a large variety of police procedures, work ethics, moral standards, learn to march, work as a team and gain life experience that they would receive nowhere else. All this training is done on Fort Lewis or Yakima Military Base, in a military environment, receiving military style training. The Explorers participate in events such as; Snoqualmie Railroad Days, the Tanner Jeans Bicycle Rodeo, the Boeing Classic, Seafair, Federal Way Challenge, Police Explorer Academies, Easter Egg Hunts, Car Shows, National Night Out, along with Several Explorer Challenges-Competitions, many community projects. The explorers conduct bicycle helmet safety for kids, School Crossing Guard Safety Training, children Identification Kits and mentorship for our children. The Explorers provide Child Identification Cards including fingerprints, physical attributes and color photograph upon issue to the community at no charge what-so-ever.
